$0 to $10K - My Way, Update # 8a

I just achieved my 1st Goal! My Bankroll  is now $41.15! Yeah me.

It took just over a month but I met my first target. I am on my way to $10K!
I like that, I'll use it as my new Title - [ On my way to $10K ]

I now have set a new target of $100. I am following the same Bankroll limitations rules that Poker Player Chris ("Jesus") Ferguson used when he succeeded, in the same challenge.

1. Never buy into a cash game or SnG with more than 5% of your bankroll.
2. Never buy into a MTT with more than 2% of your bankroll.
3. If at any time in a no-limit game the money on the table represents more than 10% of your bankroll, leave the game when the blinds come to you.

These rules are designed to limit one's loses and allow time for the skill aspect of Poker to dominate over the ever present variance (luck). 


So, with these rules, and having just $40+, I should not buy-in to a Sit and Go (SnG) tournament or a cash game for more than $2. (5% of $40). Likewise I should not buy into a Multi-Table tournament for more than $0.80. (2% of $40).


Remember that when you play in a game or tournament that is above your head, you are putting your entire bankroll at risk. If you plan ahead and play smart, you'll be able to survive any bad beat or tough run without being crippled. 


I'll find games at these stakes, as I have done to reach $40, but I may need to go a touch higher, occasionally.


All games are documented as I want a permanent written record of my challenge. Thus the Blog entries and recording of all 'Betfair Poker' , 'PokerStars' and 'PartyPoker' site games using 'Holdem Manager' software.
