Kevin Arrives in Vegas and Visits the RIO WSOP

Just arrived in Vegas (Wednesday). I visited the RIO, where the WSOP is on day 1C. I play day 1D tomorrow at noon. I have my table - #339, Seat6. It's a good seat as I can easily see the other players and with my bad eyes I can easily see the flopped cards!!

As I wandered around to get the flavour of the event I saw Joe Cada, Denis Philips, Mike Sexton, Joe Sebok and many other bigger names playing their Day 1.

The room is huge - Tables as far as the eye can see and then another room next door as well. But, you can only play one table at a time and that's how I'll approach it. I'll keep my head down and keep playing cards until the clock stops. Hopefully when I look up I'll have some chips. The first 2 Day 1's are done and the chip leaders have 125,000+ (We start with 30,000). I'll be very happy with a triple up after Day 1.

I am ready, I have been relaxing for a few days and have slept well. My strategy will be to take it easy, initially. Play Strict position and generally be Tight-Aggressive. Well, as Tight as I can, anyway!!! It is the same strategy that I used in Montreal, when I was playing seriously in the spring. (I have been trying different things over the last few months) - generally trying to play much much looser - it hasn't been working, so it's back to TAG for the WSOP until Table conditions allow me or force me to open up.

I'll update as soon as I can tomorrow on my Blog and by twitter.
